Pondo’s 40 before 40 list.

In January 2013 one of my mates announced that he was creating a Bucket List, well, things to do before he hit the tender age of 40 so more of a Forket list.  This is an idea that had been going around his head for a little while so he had already managed to cross a few things off the list before he started.

Danny is one of these guys that loves life and loves a challenge, if you have been keeping track of my posts then you will have seen a few of the things we have been through together.  As well as the Go Ape for my stag do and the Gorge Walking for Danny’s stag we have done the Manchester to Liverpool cycle event together (Twice), been to the Bent and Bongs Beer festival and he was there to support me when I took part in my track day experience driving the Lotus.  So, when he released his list I was eager to pay him back for his help and encouragement and I still 100% stand by this commitment.  I am sure there are lots of things on his list that I will be able to either help with or join him when the time comes to tackle the task.

One of the things on there was “Inspire 10 people to create a Bucket list”.  I have thought about this concept for quite a while and to be honest I struggled with the idea.  I couldn’t do a 40 before 40 list as I was already over that age and 50 before 50 seemed a little too close, plus there were things on Danny’s list that I had already done so I put it to the back of my mind and then one day I started to make a list of the achievements I had completed so far – I called it my Booked it list.  The idea was to find 100 things that I had done; initially I did ok and managed to get to about 70. 

After this list was finished I realised that I needed to make a new list and this would link very nicely into Danny’s 40 before 40.  I could then be classed as one of the 10 “Inspiree’s”.  Ok, so he hasn’t yet managed to cross this off his ever decreasing list but it is a small step closer and hopefully there will be some things on my list that will go towards his “Help someone achieve a life long Dream” ambition.
